Watson and Hill Share Medalist Honors at Season-ending SCC Invitational
Parker Watson and Amanda Hill posted identical 36-hole scores of 79-82-161 to lead the Sandhills ladies and share medalist honors at the SCC Invitational held at Legacy Golf Links on October 28 and 29.
Also for the Lady Flyers, Danielle Marovich shot rounds of 84-87-171 and Alicia Dunlap had her best tournament after rounds of 125-109-234. Golfers from Spartanburg Methodist and USC Sumpter also participated in the event that completed the fall season.
Coach Herb Pike's squad will begin practicing for the spring campaign that gets underway in late February sometime in January.
Watson and Hill both qualified as individuals for the NJCAA National Championships held in Duluth, Ga. last May. Watson led the Flyers with a scoring average of 82.4 for 10 rounds in the fall season, including a low of 76. Hill averaged 85.3 with a low round of 78.
Marovich, a freshman, averaged 85.3 with a season best round of 79. Dunlap improved throughout the season finishing with a scoring average of 124.6.
Pike was assisted this season by Bonnie McGowan and Donna Andrews.
"With all the hard work and progress made by all the players, everyone is excited to see how well we do in the spring," the coach said.
