Lady Flyers Improve to 7-0 in Conference

The Sandhills Community College volleyball team was again highly efficient on the attack in a 25-13, 25-9 and 25-9 sweep of Vance-Granville CC in Henderson Tuesday evening.

The No. 9 ranked (NJCAA Division III Poll) Lady Flyers improved to 17-1 overall and 7-0 in Region X with the win. Paige Garner was credited with seven kills, and Kaitlyn Lisenby had six, as the team posted a season-best kill percentage of .389.

Libero Erica Groff led the Flyers in digs in the conference match with 21 and also had five of the team's 15 service aces. Setter Abby Wallace added four aces to go with 22 assists.

Coach Alicia Riggan's squad heads to Pitt Community College in Winterville on Friday to play four matches against higher Division teams in two days. 

The Flyers face Surry County CC (13-5) at 5:30 p.m. and Pitt (8-6) at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Providing the opposition on Saturday will be Northern Virginia (8-4) at 9:30 a.m. and Spartanburg Methodist (6-6) at 2 p.m.
