Lady Flyers Alumni Volleyball Match Set for Saturday

NJCAA All-Americans Paige Garner and Abby Wallace are among the 13 former Sandhills Community College volleyball players who have indicated they will return for Saturday's Alumni game at The Hangar.

The action gets started at 11 a.m. against the 2021 edition of the Lady Flyers now preparing for their season opener at home against Lenoir Community College at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 19.

Spectators at the match will be required to wear masks at all times.

Garner and Wallace completed their Flyer careers as the volleyball program's career leaders in kills and assists respectively.

Other former players expected to attend include Tiffany Hicks, 2015 Region 10 Player of the Year and a 2020 SCC Hall of Fame inductee, Kaylee Lopez Rosario, Morgan McCarthy, Kaitlyn Lisenby, Tee'Ashia Lilly, Leah Salzwedel, Chandler Adams, Ashleigh McKenzie, Alexus McCrimmon, Khaile Jones and Mya Sencenbaugh.

Coach Alicia Riggan's current squad includes returnees Camryn Lowe, Mariah Daffron, Mya Mallard, Brooke Anne Fryar and Abby Quick who contributed to a record of 16-5 as the team moved up to Division II for the season of COVID.

Saturday's match will mark the first game action for a dozen Lady Flyer newcomers.
