Scotland County Outside Hitter Jenna Luquer Commits to Lady Flyers
All-Sandhills Athletic Conference outside hitter Jenna Luquer has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at Sandhills Community College next fall.
The 5-foot-6 Scotland County High School senior has also seen action as a defensive specialist and been a member of the Scotland Volleyball Club. She led the Lady Scots last season in service aces and serve receiving.
The daughter of Eric and Nikki Luquer plans to enroll in the Radiography Program at Sandhills.
"We are excited to have Jenna join the Flyers family," Coach Alicia Riggan says. "She is an awesome young lady and teammate. Jenna brings a great swing and athleticism to the program."
According to Luquer, she chose Sandhills because of the Radiography program and the team's high-spirited coaches. She is excited about meeting her teammates and playing both indoor and beach volleyball.
In an interview for the Laurinburg Exchange newspaper, following the signing, Scotland County Coach Adam Romaine said, "Jenna was a great senior captain and leader for me this year. I leaned on her from the beginning of the season to step up and be a leader, considering she was the only starter returning on the varsity. Not only did she accomplish that, but she was another assistant coach with her leadership on and off the court."
Jenna follows another Scotland grad in Abby Quick who earned All-Region 10 honors as a Lady Flyer this past season.
