Flyers Sign Versatile Standout Mylee Wiggs
Sandhills Community College Volleyball is excited to announce the signing of versatile athlete Mylee Wiggs from Southern Wayne High School and Carolina Performance Volleyball Club. A 5'8" outside hitter who can also contribute as a DS or libero, Wiggs brings nine years of playing experience and a strong competitive edge to the 2025 Flyers roster. She plans to major in Radiography at SCC.
Wiggs comes to Sandhills after a decorated high school career that included awards for Best All-Around Player, All-Conference, and Defensive Specialist of the Year. She also lettered in softball and was deeply involved in campus life, participating in National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, FFA, FCA, yearbook, and the student advisory panel—demonstrating her commitment to academics, leadership, and community.
In club volleyball, Wiggs developed her all-around skill set through six years with Eastern Elite and two seasons with Carolina Performance Volleyball Club, competing at a high level and gaining experience across multiple positions.
Wiggs chose Sandhills because the community "felt like home," sharing that the support and encouragement she received throughout her recruitment made her decision easy. She is most looking forward to winning games, making new friends, and creating memories with her teammates. She also plans to try out for the Flyers' beach volleyball team, eager to continue growing her game in both disciplines. For Wiggs, volleyball serves as an escape and a reminder of why she fell in love with the sport in the first place.
Flyers Head Coach Alicia Riggan is excited about the impact Wiggs will bring to the program: "We are thrilled to welcome Mylee to our Flyer family! She's the kind of player who can do it all—hitting, serving, defending—and she brings an incredible level of coachability to everything she does. We're extremely lucky to have her join our program, and we can't wait to see the impact she'll make on and off the court."
