NJCAA Beach Nationals – Day 3 Recap
Sandhills Community College wrapped up its second consecutive run at the NJCAA Beach Volleyball National Championship with a sixth-place finish after splitting its final two matches on Saturday.
In the morning consolation semifinal, the Flyers earned a 3–1 decision over Region 10 rival Wake Tech. The win marked Sandhills' second of the tournament over the Eagles and secured a spot in the 5th-place match.
Lainey Mullins and Reagan Smith cruised to a straight-sets win on Court 3, while Katelyn Bunting and Zoey Hall followed with a dominant performance on Court 4. Emery Freeman and Jacque Holden delivered the clinching point with a sweep on Court 5.
In the 5th-place dual, Sandhills fell 3–0 to Richard Bland College. Despite strong efforts across the board, the Statesmen clinched the match before the top and fifth pairs could finish. Notably, the Flyers were tied 1–1 in multiple matches forcing a third set when the deciding third point was secured.
The tournament marked Sandhills' third appearance in a Beach National Championship (1 AVCA Small College and 2 NJCAA). The Flyers finished with an overall dual record of 2-4, good for 6th place nationally in a strong eight-team field.
Palm Beach State College won their third consecutive National Championship with a 3-0 win over State College of Florida.
