Sandhills Flyers Complete Round One of Stitch Golf Flyers Invitational

The Sandhills Community College golf teams had a strong showing in the first round of the Stitch Golf Flyers Invitational, held yesterday at the Longleaf Golf and Family Club. The Sandhills Community College A team finished the day in second place with a total score of 298, just 10 strokes over par. Methodist University B leads the tournament with an impressive 7-under-par 281.

Leading the charge for Sandhills A was Evan Cowell, who shot an even-par 72, placing him in a tie for 6th individually. Connor Lineberry, Wyatt Beaver, and Vegas Melen also contributed solid performances, each finishing within the top 20. Lineberry and Beaver both carded 75s, tying for 10th place, while Melen's 76 put him in a tie for 17th.

The Sandhills Community College B team also competed valiantly, ending the day in 8th place with a score of 321. Will Dement led the B team with a 77, tying for 21st individually.

Individual Highlights:
