Sandhills Community College Flyers Shine at Stitch Golf Flyers Fall Invitational

The Sandhills Community College Flyers Men's Golf team showcased their talent and determination at the annual Stitch Golf Flyers Fall Invitational, held over the past two days at the Longleaf Golf and Family Club. Competing against a strong field, the Flyers delivered impressive performances, both as a team and individually.

Team Performance

The Sandhills Community College A team secured a commendable second place, finishing with a total score of +19 (595). They were only outdone by Methodist University B, who took the top spot with a score of -4 (572). The Sandhills Community College B team also put in a solid effort, finishing eighth with a total score of +53 (629).

Individual Highlights

Several Flyers golfers stood out with their exceptional play:

  • Wyatt Beaver led the way for Sandhills Community College A, finishing in 8th place individually with a score of +3 (147). His rounds of 75 and 72 demonstrated consistency and skill.
  • Evan Cowell also made a significant impact, tying for 15th place with a score of +6 (150). His first round of 72 was particularly noteworthy.
  • Vegas Melen tied for 17th place, finishing with a score of +7 (151), showing resilience across both rounds.

For the Sandhills Community College B team, Will Dement was a standout performer, tying for 13th place with a score of +5 (149). Eli Cooksey also had a strong showing, tying for 17th place at +7 (151).
