Flyers Take on Cutter Creek Intercollegiate

Flyers Take on Cutter Creek Intercollegiate

The Sandhills Community College Flyers teed off against a strong field of four-year programs in the first round of the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate, co-hosted by East Carolina University and Elon University. As the only two-year program in the field, the Flyers held their own, finishing the day in 11th place with a team score of +10.

Campbell University set the pace, leading the tournament at -11, followed by Harvard (-7) and East Carolina (-4). The challenging course conditions tested all competitors, as only four teams finished under par.

Individually, William Mitchell led the way for Sandhills, carding a solid round of -2, placing him in 12th overall. Vegas Melen (+3), Landon Cabingas (+4), and Evan Cowell (+5) rounded out the team's top four scores. Wyatt Beaver (+6) and William Dement (+12) also contributed to the team effort.
