Flyers Tied for First After Opening Round at Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate

The Sandhills Community College men's golf team is off to a strong start at the 52nd Annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate, finishing the first round tied for first place with Guilford College and Swarthmore College at 1-under-par (287).

Leading the way for the Flyers were Will Mitchell and Evan Cowell, who each carded impressive rounds of 3-under 69, placing them in a tie for third on the individual leaderboard. Landon Cabingas added a steady round of 74 (+2), while Vegas Melen and Wyatt Beaver both contributed rounds of 75 (+3) to round out the team score.

Round two continues Saturday at Paradise Point Golf Course.
