Flyers Close Regular Season with 3–1 Win Over Cleveland; Set to Host Region 10 Championship Saturday

The Sandhills Community College Flyers capped off their regular season with a 3–1 home victory over Cleveland Community College on Wednesday night inside Heins Gymnasium. The Flyers took the match by scores of 25–23, 25–19, 24–26, and 25–16 to finish strong ahead of postseason play.
The Flyers' attack was well-balanced, led by Katelyn Bunting and Taylor Miller, who each tallied 10 kills. Bunting hit an efficient .310 while also contributing at the net with two solo blocks and one block assist. Brooke Emore added nine kills and a team-high 21 digs, while Madison Scheffler chipped in six kills and three block assists.
Setter Reagan Malpass guided the offense with 20 assists, while Averi Cuddeback added 19 assists, one service ace, and 10 digs to round out a steady performance. From the service line, Giannie Small led the team with four aces, helping Sandhills keep momentum throughout the match.
Defensively, the Flyers recorded 81 digs as a team, with Olivia Rosy adding 12 and Jacque Holden contributing nine to anchor the back row.
With the win, Sandhills enters postseason play on a high note and will host the 2025 Region 10 Championship Tournament this Saturday, October 25th. The Flyers will face Patrick & Henry Community College in the first semifinal at 1:00 PM, followed by a 3:00 PM semifinal between Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute and Central Carolina Community College. The winners of the two semifinals will meet in the Region 10 Championship match at 5:00 PM inside The Hangar.
