The Sandhills Community College Flyers closed out their pre-Thanksgiving schedule in dominant fashion Tuesday night, powering past the Johnston Community College Jaguars 112–49 at home. The Flyers controlled the game from the opening tip, racing out to a 52–23 halftime lead and never looking back.
Sandhills showcased its depth and efficiency throughout the night, shooting 55.4% from the field and assisting on 32 of 46 made baskets. The Flyers also won the rebounding battle decisively, 54–29, and held the Jaguars to just 26% shooting.
Isaiah Upchurch led the scoring effort with 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including five made threes, while adding seven rebounds and five assists. Fellow starter Cristian Sias delivered a standout performance with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Mylon Campbell continued his efficient stretch of play, finishing with 15 points and five boards.
Titus Cunningham added 14 points off the bench, and Randy Dockery provided a spark with 12 points, five assists, and three steals. In all, 12 different Flyers scored, highlighting the team's balance and unselfish play.
Johnston CC was led by 14 points from Orion Champion and 12 from Carson Leifheit, but the Jaguars struggled to keep pace with Sandhills' tempo and ball movement.
With the win, Sandhills heads into Thanksgiving break on a six game winning streak. The Flyers return to action at home on Thursday, December 4th at 7 p.m., when they host Methodist College JV.
