Sandhills Community College earned a 90–86 home victory over Central Carolina Community College on Wednesday night in The Hangar, outscoring the visitors 54–48 in the second half to secure the win.
The Flyers trailed 38–36 at halftime before opening the second half with increased defensive pressure and improved efficiency on the offensive end. Sandhills finished the night shooting 45.5% from the field and connected on 24-of-30 free throws.
Zack Noel led all scorers with 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting and added seven rebounds and three blocks. Mylon Campbell followed with 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Randy Dockery provided an efficient 13 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting night, including 2-for-2 from three-point range.
Isaiah Upchurch added 13 points, and Amarie Liburd grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with four points. Kendall Smith contributed eight points and four assists off the bench, and Titus Cunningham chipped in six points with a block.
Sandhills held a 50–29 advantage on the glass and recorded six blocks as a team, helping limit Central Carolina's second-chance opportunities. The Flyers also dished out 21 assists on 30 made field goals.
Sandhills will be back in The Hangar this weekend with Region 10 matchups on Saturday, February 7 versus Virginia Peninsula CC at 1:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 8 versus Oxford College of Emory University at 1:00 p.m. The Flyers will then travel to Patrick & Henry Community College on Wednesday, February 11 at 6:00 p.m. before returning home on Saturday, February 14 to face Mt. Zion Prep at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 15 against Camp Community College at 1:00 p.m.
