Flyers Fall 99–71 on the Road at Davidson-Davie
Sandhills Community College men's basketball dropped a tough road matchup Wednesday night, falling 99–71 to Davidson-Davie Community College.
Davidson-Davie came out firing, building a 50–28 halftime lead behind hot shooting and strong play in the paint. The Flyers showed more rhythm offensively in the second half, scoring 43 points after the break, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome against one of the region's most efficient offenses.
Isaiah Upchurch delivered his strongest outing of the season, leading Sandhills with 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting while going a perfect 8-for-8 at the free-throw line. Mylon Campbell added eight points and three rebounds, while both Zack Noel and Nysheed Williams chipped in six apiece. Cristian Sias posted six points and three rebounds, and Titus Cunningham matched the six-point mark while providing energy off the bench.
Despite 20 made free throws and 39 total rebounds, the Flyers struggled to find perimeter consistency, finishing just 1-of-14 from three. Meanwhile, Davidson-Davie shot 51.9 percent from the floor and 33 percent from deep, with four starters scoring in double figures and forward Nijel Howard leading all Storm scorers with 21 points.
The Flyers return home Saturday afternoon for a 3 p.m. matchup against Flight 22 Prep.
