Flyers Sweep Wake Tech to Stay Hot Heading into Season Finale
The Sandhills Community College Flyers continued their strong play Wednesday night with a straight-set victory over Wake Technical Community College, winning 25-22, 25-14, 25-20 at home.
The Flyers hit an impressive .304 as a team, showcasing balance and efficiency across the lineup. Freshman Madison Scheffler led the way with nine kills on a .538 hitting percentage, while Taylor Miller and Katelyn Bunting each added nine and five kills, respectively. Brooke Emore chipped in seven kills and a service ace to round out a well-rounded offensive effort.
Setter Averi Cuddeback kept the offense clicking with 21 assists and an ace, while fellow setter Reagan Malpass added 16 assists and one ace of her own. Olivia Rosy anchored the defense with a team-high 12 digs, and Bunting led the front line defensively with three solo blocks.
The win marks another dominant performance for the Flyers as they continue to build momentum heading into the postseason.
Sandhills will close out the regular season next Wednesday at 6 p.m. at home against Cleveland Community College.
The following Saturday, October 25, the Flyers will host the Region 10 Tournament at Sandhills Community College.
